Our awesome Krabi holiday

Arriving at beautiful Koh Pha Ngan, I noticed that the island attracted many heavy-drinking Israelis, from which some behaved rather annoying. We stayed for two days on the laid-back island. Most time we killed with sun-bathing, swimming, eating great Thai food and drinking numerous exotic cocktails. During the evening we enjoyed viewing a spectacular fire show while drinking buckets of Thai rum mixed with soda and strong Chang beer. Fortunately I was wise enough to only drink a few glasses while Anouk and Jasmine drank glass after glass. They probably forgot that Thai rum contains 40 percent of alcohol.

The next morning we navigated to Krabi. Jasmine and Anouk suffered from a severe hung over and the sea trip seemed to make it even worse. The entire duration of the journey they tried in vain to sleep on the vessel’s deck. They both kept feeling druggy until late in the evening. I was glad that I had made the unusual decision, not drinking too much. It definitely saved me a lot of trouble.

Ton Sai beach was supposed to be our destination the next day. However, a Thai taxi driver informed us about no available boats. We decided to go to Railay Beach the next morning so first we had to spend the night in one of Ao Nang’s inexpensive budget accommodation facilities. The three of us only had to pay only 200 baht, which is about 4 Euro. Creatively we connected the twin beds so there would be plenty of space for three people to sleep. The backpacker guesthouse was very noisy and our room was poorly ventilated. An antique fan hardly was able to create a cool breeze throughout the room. Anyway, it is realistic not to expect any luxury for 200 baht.

In the early next morning we headed to the picturesque pier. This time a long tail boat was available and we made the refreshing trip to fantastic Railay Beach, which is truly a haven for rock climbing enthusiasts and photographers of jaw-dropping natural beauty.
