Krabi lacks the vast array of shopping facilities found in Phuket; however, over the last few years Krabi has welcomed some new and modern developments.

Most travellers enjoy browsing Ao Nang’s souvenir stalls and gift shops, searching for original presents for loved ones back home. It is always worth bartering with sales staff as the price is usually set quite high.

Prices are slightly cheaper in Krabi town than in Ao Nang, but it takes more rummaging to find interesting items. If you are looking for electronics, clothing or food gifts, the large superstores on the outskirts of Krabi are the best bet.

Both Tesco Lotus and Big C are located on the road which leads to the airport, and are easily accessed by taxi or songthaew. Aside from a large supermarket, there are many other retail outlets housed inside the malls.

Prices aren’t negotiable in these stores, so no need to bring along your bartering technique.
