Krabi night markets
Posted by admin on September 9th, 2010 filed in UncategorizedOne of the joys of traveling is sampling the local cuisine, and while in Asia, the night markets are usually the best place to start. Whether you want to sit and slurp noodle soup with locals or buy to eat back at your guest house, you will be spoilt for choice in Krabi.
For a sit-down meal, the night market along the riverside is the best bet. There is a wide variety of food available here including many typical Thai stir-friend dishes and curries served on a bed of rice. Other snacks include Indian-style rotis (pancakes) and sweet coconut milk desserts.
For barbequed meats on skewers, Thai fish cakes or northeastern Thai cuisine, head to City Market, also in the town centre. This is the best market for buying takeaway food, and also offers a wide choice of tropical fruits. Around 5pm the market is extremely busy, but there is a great atmosphere as the smoke rises and aromas float through the air.
