Krabi’s new eatery
Posted by admin on September 16th, 2010 filed in Uncategorized, attractions, hospitality, living here, travel tipsThere was no time to roll out the red carpet at the grand opening of Tamarind Restaurant on Friday 10th September, as guests arrived in droves from early evening.
Tamarind Restaurant (located on Chao Fa Road, Krabi Town) is set to revolutionize Krabi’s dining scene, as no other establishment in the area offers such a wide variety of both Thai and Western cuisine.
Tamarind owners Toy and Carol Srikaow are no strangers to the catering business, having cooked up a first-class reputation among diners for the last fifteen years in their Phi Phi-based restaurant. After their business was destroyed by the tsunami, they relocated to Krabi Town, snapped up a quaint old shophouse and gave it the facelift of its dreams.
The blend of brickwork, wood and waxy plants add a Mediterranean accent, while the extensive menu boasts dishes from across the globe. Despite the crisp linens and top notch service, Tamarind Restaurant is unpretentious and inexpensive.
The atmosphere was alight and the buzz of excited chatter among guests drifted across town, along with the delicious aromas from the complimentary selection of Tamarind’s specialties.
