New Year celebrations signal hope for 2011

Locals and visitors gathered together in prime spots along the river and on the beaches to bring in 2011 with much excitement and joy. As the clock struck mid night fireworks marked the first second of a new year, and onlookers participated in the vibrant light show by releasing prayer balloons up into the sky. Krabi Town, Railay, Ao Nang, Phi Phi and Koh Lanta all enjoyed a busy and lively night, hopefully signalling the start of a prosperous new year.
