Hong Island
Posted by admin on January 24th, 2011 filed in UncategorizedNot only is Hong Island protected by national park status, but the beach has been voted as one of Thailand’s top four cleanest beaches two years running. Situated in the watery heart of Phang Nga Bay, Hong Island enjoys one of the country’s most scenic spots. Phang Nga Bay is characterised by hundreds of craggy karsts emerging from an emerald sea.
The island has two beaches, one of which is a perfect arc almost enclosed by limestone walls. The beach is very busy during high season, with many speedboats and longtails moored along the bay.
The sand is very soft and powdery and the clear water is home to a vibrant marine culture of fluorescent stripey fish.
Trips to Hong Island can be arranged through any tour operator in Ao Nang or Krabi.
