Krabi’s morning market

The crack of dawn does not mark an unearthly hour to Thai people; many Krabi locals start their day long before sunrise. At 04:00 Krabi’s morning market is a busy trading hub. Local restaurant owners show up early to purchase the best catch of seafood and freshest vegetables for their business.

The large market is housed in a building just behind the Shell Station on Maharat Road. A rainbow of tropical fruits and Asian vegetables are arranged with care and fantastic presentation skills. The fish aisles are well worth a look, just to appreciate the wide range of seafood abundant in the area.

The market is open until around 11:00; however, it is important to turn up before 08:00 to experience it in its full glory.
