Catch a cool breeze and a cheap cold beer…

Now the rain has finally relented, the sun seems to beat down on Krabi extra strong to make up for lost time. The sun may be strongest at midday, but the air feels hottest and most suffocating around 3pm, after the sun has been in full blaze for a good few hours.

So is there any escape apart from KFC? The best place to catch a nice breeze and enjoy a cold beer when all else fails, is Ruen Pae Restaurant. This boat-like restaurant is docked on Krabi River and reached by a foot bridge.

Customers can enjoy a wide range of fish and seafood dishes, as well as all the usual suspects such as pad thai, fried rice and green curry. Prices are extremely reasonably, and you’ll often find many Thai families dining out there in the evening due to its appealing location and cheap fare.
