As trees are constantly being chopped down to make room for more and more buildings, it is always reassuring to come across a local business which utilizes Krabi’s fantastic nature, without endangering it.

Suan Gluay Mai is a small restaurant located just outside Klong Muang, in a lush and leafy enclave beside a gushing stream.

Alfresco dining is possible throughout the day no matter how hot the weather, thanks to the shade-providing jungle canopy.

The Thai language section of the menu has many more dishes listed, than the English section, so be sure to have a look at the pictures and don’t be afraid to just point to a dish you fancy.

Recommended eats include panang moo (creamy pork curry), som tam pollimai (northern-style fruit salad) and any of the whole-cooked fish dishes.

Restaurant is open from 10:00 until 18:00; closed on Mondays.
