Great value seafood barbecues in Railay

While eating in both East and West Railay is certainly not cheap, there are a few options for people who want to eat their fill but not spend their life savings in the process. While the area is being ever more taken over with classy resorts that offering international menus with a corresponding pricetag, there area still a few gems to be discovered as well.

The seafood barbecues of Railay – especially Railay East – offer a decent fish skewer with all-you-can-eat salad bar for around 200 baht. And they generally do not scrimp on the portion of barracuda, red snapper or blue marlin you receive. There is also plenty of rice and fruit on hand for desert, plus a range of spicy Thai sauces to make your mouth water.

While this menu can get a little dull after a while – and the range of reasonably-priced eateries is certainly better around the bay in Ao Nang – if staying in Railay or Ton Sai for a few days of soaking up the sun, then the beach barbecues offer the best value food in town.
