An eventful day in Krabi’s Tesco Lotus

It has been a wet week in Krabi so unfortunately I was not able to go on my weekly island exploration and instead found myself hidden indoors for what seemed to be an endless amount of days. Despite this I still managed to keep myself occupied in Krabi town’s Tesco Lotus, which besides the usual Tesco items also has a game centre, a karaoke room and a cinema. I realize that these things are not extremely appealing to tourists but they are a good way to keep yourself and the kids entertained for a day.

Those who wish to do some holiday bargain shopping can do so here, as there are a number of shops within the building as well as Tesco’s own assortment of stuff. Although it is not recommended for souvenirs it is a great place for purchasing clothing, undergarments cosmetics and jewellery for a great price.

The games room of course will appeal more to the youngsters, however the karaoke room can be fun for the entire family. As well, the cinema is a bargain compared to prices in the west and you can even pay extra for VIP treatment. In doing so you are served a selection of treats throughout the film will sitting in extra wide lazy-boy type chairs. Couples can even get a loveseat.

Spending a day in Tesco Lotus can in fact result in a fun filled afternoon for the entire family, even though it sounds like an odd way to spend a holiday.
