Relaxing on Koh Lanta

This week I decided to take a couple of days off to relax and unwind and spent them on stunning Koh Lanta. I originally chose this island due to its close proximity to Krabi but once there appreciated it for its beauty rather than its close location.

Koh Lanta is a great place for a holiday, no matter what your budget is. There is something here to suit everyone. There are a number of beaches around the small island but we chose to stay on Pra Ae (Long Beach) because we were told it is a peaceful place to relax, and we were not disappointed.

Due to our budget we were not able to stay directly in the beach but there is plenty to choose from, and no resort is outrageously expensive. In fact, travellers can get a beautiful beachfront bungalow starting at around 1,300 Baht a night. The food here was also fantastic and we enjoyed dining on the beach while watching a beautiful sunset.

Unfortunately I did not have time to get a real feel for the place on my short trip, but I will definitely be back for longer next time around. The island certainly has a lot of appeal.
